On 31 January 2025 the District Court of Luxembourg has ordered the liquidation of FWU Life Insurance Lux S.A. was ordered. The Luxembourg-based life insurer had previously attempted to stabilise its financial situation with a restructuring plan - but this failed.

Who is affected by the liquidation?

Important to know:
- The BaFin is not competent in these proceedings, as it is a Luxembourg company.
- The German protection scheme Protector does not apply.

Claim registration
Within six months, each policyholder shall receive from the liquidator a Pre-filled claim registration. This must be checked and submitted on time.
